About this product
Kodo millet murukku is a delightful and nutritious snack that blends traditional flavors with the health benefits of kodo millet. This crispy, spiral-shaped treat is a popular choice in South Indian cuisine, often enjoyed during festivals, special occasions, or as a savory snack for tea time. By substituting regular rice flour with kodo millet flour, this version of murukku not only offers a unique taste but also enhances its nutritional profile. The process of making kodo millet murukku begins with preparing the dough. Kodo millet flour is mixed with a variety of spices, such as cumin seeds, sesame seeds, and a hint of asafoetida, which add depth and aroma to the snack. The addition of salt and water helps achieve the right consistency, making the dough pliable and easy to shape. This savory mixture is then filled into a murukku maker, a traditional kitchen tool that allows for easy extrusion into beautiful, intricate shapes. One of the key benefits of kodo millet murukku is its nutritional content. Kodo millet is rich in fiber, which aids in digestion and promotes a feeling of fullness, making it an ideal snack for those looking to maintain a healthy diet. Additionally, it is packed with essential minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, and iron, contributing to overall well-being. Kodo millet murukku stands out not only for its health benefits but also for its delightful crunch and flavor. When fried to golden perfection, each piece is crispy on the outside while maintaining a light texture within. The nutty flavor of kodo millet, complemented by the spices, creates a satisfying and addictive snack that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with chutneys and dips.
