Nokia 6700 Slide Keypad Phone (Global)

Form Factor

The handset has a sliding alphanumeric keypad that hides behind the lower half of the phone when closed.

Body Materials

The back and some components are made of aluminum, giving it a more premium feel than many plastic phones. However the top and bottom caps are plastic, gloss‑finished, and more susceptible to scratches.

Dimensions & Weight

It measures around 95.2 × 46.1 × 15.9 mm, weighs about 110 grams, and has a volume of about 52 cc. It’s fairly thick (by modern standards) due to being a slider + the materials.

Screen

A 2.2‑inch TFT display, QVGA resolution (240×320), supporting 16 million colors. Ambient light sensor provided to adjust brightness automatically.

Keypad

When slid open, there is a flat‐bed alphanumeric keypad with well‑spaced keys. Tactile feedback is decent; the keys are large enough for relatively comfortable typing given the size. The sliding mechanism is solid and doesn’t feel loose or wobbly.

Navigation / Other Buttons

Below the screen are the navigation pad (D‑pad) and soft keys, call/end, etc. There is also a dedicated camera key.

Operating System

Symbian OS 9.3 with S60 (3rd Edition, FP2). A mature OS by the time, with many available apps and features.

Processor / Memory

Runs on a ~600 MHz ARM11 CPU, with about 128 MB RAM, and internal storage roughly 45‑60 MB usable. Storage can be expanded via microSD / micro SDHC up to 16 GB.

Camera

Back camera is 5 MP with autofocus, dual LED flash, Carl Zeiss optics. Video capture is more modest (e.g. VGA / 480p) depending on lighting. There is a front VGA camera for video calling.

Networks

Supports quad‑band GSM + tri‑band WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA. So 2G plus decent 3G speeds (~10.2 Mbps down, ~2 Mbps up).

Other Connectivity

Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, micro USB 2.0. No WiFi. GPS also not included.

Audio / Media

FM Radio built in, standard audio playback (MP3, etc.), loudspeaker. However the audio jack is 2.5 mm (less common) rather than 3.5 mm.

Applications / UI

Comes with the usual Symbian S60 apps: calendar, messaging, contacts; supports Ovi services; social networking clients; a decent web browser with some Flash support; customizable home screen, themes.

Battery

Removable Li‑Ion 860 mAh (model BL‑4CT).

Talk & Standby

In ideal conditions: up to ~4 hours talk time on 2G, ~3 hours on 3G; standby up to ~300 hours (2G), or ~250 hours (3G).

Music Playback

Impressive for its class—up to ~29 hours offline playback of music.
