HEENG (Asafoetida)

• Hing, also known as asafoetida, has many potential health benefits:
• Digestion

Hing is high in fiber, which can help with digestion and relieve stomach issues like bloating, gas, and abdominal pain. It can also help prevent stomach infections by inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestines. To help with bloating and gas, you can try adding half a teaspoon of hing to warm water and drinking it on an empty stomach.

Blood pressure

Hing is a good source of potassium, which can help balance the effects of sodium and maintain blood pressure. It can also help blood vessels relax, which can improve blood flow throughout the body.

Menstrual pain

Hing can help with menstrual pain, irregular periods, and heavy menstrual flow. It can improve blood circulation and help the body secrete progesterone.

Antioxidants

Hing contains antioxidants that can help fight oxidative stress caused by free radicals, which can reduce swelling and treat muscle pain and spasms.

Headaches

Hing can help prevent headaches caused by blood vessel blockages. To help relieve mild headaches, you can boil hing in a cup of water and let it simmer for at least 15 minutes, then drink the mixture multiple times a day.

Diabetes

Hing can help lower blood glucose levels and increase insulin levels, which can help control high blood sugar.

Respiratory health

Hing can help clear mucus, ease coughing, and relieve chest congestion. It can also help treat respiratory diseases like asthma and bronchitis by reducing inflammation in the bronchial tubes.
