Following the Flyways: A Baruipur Migratory Birding Expedition, Kolkata tickets

About this place

Every winter, the wetlands and open landscapes around Baruipur become part of a much larger story—the movement of birds across continents. Join us for a curated morning expedition into the Baruipur landscape, travelling by car between carefully selected birding locations to look for winter migrants alongside the resident birds that call these wetlands home. Rather than staying at a single birding spot, we move through different habitats, following where the birds are. Along the way, your naturalist host will help you understand the landscape beyond the field guide—from migration and bird behaviour to the wetlands and agricultural ecosystems that make this region an important seasonal refuge. This is not simply a birdwatching outing. It is an opportunity to slow down, explore a lesser-known landscape around Kolkata, and experience the arrival of winter through its birds
