Deuri Periye Debir Ghore: Chinsurah Bonedi Barir Durga Puja, Kolkata tickets

About this place

Every autumn, Chinsurah changes. Behind its quiet lanes, weathered facades, and old courtyards, centuries-old rituals awaken once again. দেউড়ি পেরিয়ে দেবীর ঘরে is a journey into the world of Chinsurah’s Bonedi Bari Durga Pujas—where the festival is not merely an occasion of celebration, but a living inheritance carried through generations. We will cross old gateways and enter historic households, discovering the stories behind their Durga Pujas, their distinctive rituals, family traditions, architecture, and memories. Along the way, we will look beyond the grandeur of the festival to understand how these houses, families, and communities shaped the cultural landscape of Chinsurah. This is not simply a Puja tour. It is a journey through courtyards and customs, memory and mythology, architecture and ancestry—a chance to experience Durga Puja as it has been lived inside the old houses of Chinsurah. Come, cross the deuri. The Goddess is waiting inside.
