Discover the history and legacy of the Madras Sappers, one of India’s oldest military engineering regiments, through a guided heritage programme in Halasuru. The morning begins with breakfast at Yellow Veranda, STHALA, a 110 year old heritage space. Following breakfast, participants will join a guided trail exploring the history of the Madras Sappers and the Madras Engineer Group, their origins, military engineering contributions, campaigns and service across more than two centuries. The programme includes a guided visit to the Madras Sappers Museum, offering an opportunity to view the regiment’s battle honours, military artefacts, archival material and other records that document its long and distinguished history. The walk brings together Bengaluru’s military heritage, regimental history and the stories of the soldiers and engineers who shaped the legacy of the Madras Sappers.
